The Pecan Pie is a delicious pie for any occasion.

Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pecan halves
  • 1 9 inch Deep Dish Pie Piecrust
  • 1 cup Dark Corn Syrup
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoon Butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 Eggs (slightly beaten)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
  • Place Pecans evenly distributed on the bottom of the Piecrust.
  • In medium bowl, combine Corn Syrup, Sugar, Butter, Vanilla, and Eggs; stir until well mixed. Pour this mixture into the prepared Piecrust. Rearrange Pecans in the Piecrust, if necessary.
  • Place 1 inch strips of foil around edges of the Piecrust to keep crust from browning too much.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, reduce the heat to 325F degrees and bake for 45 minutes or until center sets.

Notes

The Pecan Pie was named  as the Texas state pie by the Texas House of Representatives in April 2013.
