Who is Chef Texas Rose ™ anyway?
Well I am a child of the Living God, a wife, a mom of four kids, a mother-in-law to one, a nana to a beautiful granddaughter and a Texas chef.
I attended the culinary department at St. Philips College. Upon graduation I received two Associate degrees in Applied Science. My majors were in Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts. I also have attended an online program through Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Scottsdale, Arizona, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Management.
I did not always like to cook when I was living with my parents. In fact, I HATE it! I would rather do any chore than to cook. But once I moved out, things were different. At first, cooking for myself was hard. I really didn’t know how to cook. I sort of learned by recipes and trying the techniques out.
I fell in love with cooking and the restaurant industry when I went to work at a fast food Tex-Mex restaurant before meeting hubby and having kids. I have always told my hubby that one day I would want my own restaurant with a catering service. And one day I will!
After the birth of my four kids I had gained a lot of weight. I had lost 40 pounds with Richard Simmons’ Food Mover and Billy Banks’ TaeBo. Then I went to culinary school, I did not take the time to exercise or eat right. I was too busy!!
Today I still need to lose about 30 pounds to be at the right weight for my height. Thus I am embarking on another nutritional and exercising adventure for the health of my whole being – spirit, soul, and body.
I have another blog called Shana-Tucker.com; this is where I will write about the healthy lifestyle that God is showing me. A healthy lifestyle that involves the whole being: the spirit, soul, and body. These three elements of person’s being must be in harmony with each other to be healthy. If the three elements are unbalanced then the person is unhealthy and sick.
This website (Chef Texas Rose.com) is where all the recipes will go.
If you want to follow my journey to a healthy lifestyle and learn things as we go along, then subscribe to me or follow me on all my social media.
Thank you for coming!
Until next time,
Chef Texas Rose aka: Shana Tucker
