Green Chili Stew

When the cold weather seeps in, the family starts hollering for soups. This Green Chili Stew is one of our favorites! And of course, it is mandatory that there is CTR Famous Cornbread to go with it.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 7 ounces can green chilies chopped
  • 1 14 ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 3 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 14 ounce can water (using empty tomato can)

Instructions

  • Combine onion and green chilies together and saute in stockpot for a few minutes.

  • Cook ground meat separately in skillet until browned. Drain off fat from meat.

  • Add meat and remaining ingredients to stockpot.
    1 pound ground meat, 3 Tablespoon chili powder, 2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 14 ounce can water, 1 14 ounce can diced tomatoes
  • Cover and simmer for at 30 minutes or more while the CTR Famous Cornbread is cooking.
